Monday Morning Card #51

It's fall.
It's dark at 6AM.
And then it's dark again at 8PM.
(I don't know if I like it yet.)

This card reflects the changing darkness.
Not only in the nice deep purple, but also in the artificial light because I made it too late last night.

I keep denying that winter is coming in hopes that, maybe, it won't.
But it will.
So friend, let's get together, watch the leaves turn colors, and eat apple pie.
Friend, let's embrace the season rather than deny it!
Happy Fall!

Scraps [4]

It might be weird, but western Wisconsin will always have a place in my heart.
I know, I transferred from Eau Claire and I really haven't spent much time over there before or since then, but that part of the state holds so much beauty!
While I was at Eau Claire I took a few science classes that involved field trips
(who doesn't love that!?).
Through that time I got to see the areas in the community that weren't full of college students and academics.

Last fall Fred and I ventured (back) West!
We went to some parks I had been to before, and others that were new.
This is Lake Wissota!
We camped there for two night and I feel in love.
Everything was gorgeous!

I tried to keep this page simple and let the beauty speak for itself.
Then I found some really cool buttons and couldn't resist!

This trip was an amazing adventure!
I can't wait to go back.

Have a lovely weekend.
Make sure you get our for a little adventure as well.

Monday Morning Card #50

Wonderful.
That's what today is.
Wonderful
That's what this season is.
Wonderful.
That's what you are.

Have a great week!
Try to get out and enjoy the 70's!
(A little hard apple cider wouldn't hurt either.)

Scraps [3]

I didn't have close ups of these pages so there are two!

The first is a family dinner we had last summer.
I don't scrapbook nearly enough about my family.
So this page is making up for that a little.

The next is a new years page for 2011-2012.
A LONG time ago!
It is nice to have it together though!

Have a great weekend!
I hope you enjoyed these pages.

Lately

I moved into the dorm.
Decorated the wall with postcards (here).

Draped my mint plant over my desk

And ate big salads.

Life is good.

Monday Morning Card #49

Sometimes you just want to wish someone the best.
On their semester at back at school, or their job interview today.
This is the card for that.
Bright and excited, just what you need to say, "HELLO! I think you're super great!"

I hope you have a great week.

Scrap [2]

Today's scrap comes from last summer when things were almost a complete reverse of what they were this last summer.
I was extremely busy with work,
and Fred was having a great time enjoying summer and the benefits of LTEs (limited time employees).

Sometimes the only time we'd have together during the week were adventure in Waupaca.
Including this one.

I didn't get out this year, what with work, class, and books to keep me inside.
It was really a shame.
We had so much fun paddling around the lake last year!

I hope you enjoy the colorful layout and the adventure theme-set by the Arthur Conan Doyle library due date card.
Don't worry. I didn't steal it.
I got a book from Better World Books!

Monday Morning Card #48

Summer came late this year.
It being Wisconsin I don't know weather to put on long-johns or short-shorts.
I guess I'll do both.
It's called layering!

Anyway, for a last taste of summer here's a summer birthday card!

Complete with strawberries, ice cream and flowers.
What more could you want from a birthday?

Scraps [1]

I want to try something new.
In addition to making cards I scrapbook.
Most of the time what I scrap is a repeat of what I've blogged about,
which is why I normally don't share.
I've just been so darn proud of some of my recent layouts that I wanted to share them with you.
A Friday pick-me-up if you will.
It's also a good reminder for me before the weekend to start looking for the next adventure!

The first one I want to share is from Fred and my trip to Leinenkugel's.
We had a great time on the brewery tour and the tasting was delicious!

I used some antique elements from grandma's house as well as some paper from Studio Calico and Anthology.
It was a great trip and I really like how colorful the page is!

Labor Day

I spent Labor Day with family, the best way do spend a day off in my opinion.
I got to see my cousin, her husband, and their sweet 13-month old!

I had a great time!

It was fun to have a get together, especially because I don't see much of that side of the family, especially the cousin who lives out west.
We had a great afternoon sitting outside and feasting on grilled delights.

And milk . . .

A big thank you to Claire for taking the pictures!
(All but the last of course!)

Monday Card #47

Sometimes we need encouragement.
Someone to say, "You did REALLY good right there!"
Even if that "right there" was something really small, acknowledgment that you made it through can be a big deal.

So just remember, if at first you do succeed, try not to look too astonished.
