Monday Morning Card #59

This card reminds me of catching butterflies as a child.
The whimsical afternoons spent in the company of a sister and the insects of the yard.

It reminds me that simple things are worth noticing.
Noticing and thanking people for.

Monday Morning Card #58

I'm back, with an unconventional Christmas card.

The stars are hung and the white on green says "cherish."
It's been a busy few months, but now it's time to drink tea and relax.
Enjoy your week.

Taking a Break

I hate to say this but I'm putting a hold on Monday Morning cards and Scraps until this semester is over. I have a lot of homework to get done and I haven't had time to put a single Christmas card together, much less take a picture of it.
I'm sorry about the break, but I need it. My grades need it.
I'll see you in 17 days-when it's all over.

Scraps [11]

This is a double page layout for my trip to Florida.
I made the trip two winters ago.
Now you know how far behind I am on my scrapbook!

I took a bunch of pictures, but when I laid them all out the photos felt random, and I didn't know what to do with them.

I used the layout, paper, and add-ons to bring in together and I really love how it turned out.

I also think that the pictures really told the whole story, so I didn't journal much on these pages.
This was a layout that I wasn't convinced would work as I was making it.
When I finished I was definitely, pleasantly surprised.

This was definitely the first cluster layout I did, all those you see from here on out (or before for some reason) all stemmed from this first idea.
I kinda love it!

Have a great Friday!
Eat leftovers and enjoy family.

Monday Morning Card #57

Sometimes a simple flower says it all.

Other times you need a few words to go with it.
This card offers both!

Scraps [10]

Sometimes I have only one picture to remember an event.
It's this, the forgetful camera women, that makes me love to scrap.
I can collect a picture, artifacts, and a blurb about what went down.
That way I can remember the event forever.

I guess what I'm really saying is that, no matter how much I love sharing my pages with others,
the memories will always be mine.
I'm the reason I make scrapbooks.
Is that selfish or what!
Anyway.
Maybe my memories will spark a memory of your own.
Have a great weekend.

Monday Morning Card #56

Thanks for rainbows and unicorns.

For bright days and flowers.
And thanks for the cold days and snow to remind us how lucky we are.

Scraps [9]

Last summer, that's 2012 I'm talking about, mom made a great drink.
I've now come to believe that ever summer has it's drink.
It doesn't have to be the one I drank the most of (gin and tonics every time!).
Instead it's the one that we tried that one time, and it's got a great story to go with it!

This gin martini was that drink in 2012.
So much so it got its own scrapbook page.
(2013 was the peach margarita we bought a case of peaches for.)

Have a great weekend.
Maybe even enjoy your summer drink again-just for fun!

Monday Morning Card #55

I recently had a lot of Thank You's to make so prepare yourself for some great and colorful cards!

This one is fun.
Classic and elegant with a dash of vintage in the paint speckled button.

Scraps [8]

Some birthdays need to be documented.
21 is one of the, but how do you talk about it?

I decided you don't.
Just let the pictures tell the story.

I like to think that when people look through the scrapbook I'll be there to tell the stories!

Monday Morning Card #54

Let's start November with some love.
Some heart.

Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Feel your heart, how strong it is.
Beating.
Steadily.
Time moves, hearts beat, life goes on.
All will work out in the end.

Monday Morning Card #53

Ribbon, as promised.
And a message for this Monday at the end of October.
It's flown by!
I'm gasping on to the last threads with my fingernails.
I can't let another month go by!

I also have to remember to smile.
I'm a month and a half away from ending this semester's craziness,
and two months from starting another's.
Smile, and it will turn out okay.
Promise.

Scraps [7]

Another page for you today.
A simple one for today, complete with butterflies.

This is one of my favorite pictures from all of the trips we've made to the Madison farmer's market.
Best part: The crazy carrots!

Have a great, fly away weekend!

Monday Morning Card #52

So I have cards.
I just uploaded three in fact.
Yet the last two weeks have slid by without a card for Monday.
I'm sorry.
I've been crazy busy.

Then there is this card.
Bringing me back to my roots.
Patterned paper on a fun bright color with a flower stamped next to a button.
What more could you ask for?
Okay, so next time there will be ribbon.
Anything else?!
I didn't think so.
Have a great Monday!

Scraps [6]

This is a two-pager!
This is the first time I went to Door County in my memory.
There was a few times with my mother when I was little for cherry picking that I don't remember.
Apparently I had fun, and liked cherries!

This time was with Fred during Spring Break 2012.

I'm really happy with how these pages came together.
They are light, yet colorful.

Beautiful and reflective.

The perfect way to describe this getaway!

Saturday's Adventure in Chicago!

I could start this post really cool.
I could tell you a back story that makes this whole thing seem really cool.
Instead, I'll lead with I saw the Buffalo Sabres!!

Saturday was jam packed, but so much fun!
It had been a long time since I took time to watch a hockey game.
So, naturally, I drove all the way to Chicago to fit one in!

Though Buffalo didn't win, I got to check out the new players, and some old.
I got to see Miller in the net-which was a little like magic!

It was also really fun to see the Blackhawks in action.
The arena was great and the atmosphere was excellent!

Moral of the story:
Go to Chicago.
Watch hockey.
Have a great time and don't worry about homework-that's what Monday is for!

COLORS!
Memories of warm summer nights, and art on the front slab.

Go out and have a colorful weekend!

Garden Ramblings

Fall is here and that means colors are abundant.
Especially red.
My favorite.

This Saturday I took a moment to roam the garden to capture the color.
That way I can come back to this post in February when I forget that Wisconsin has a color other than white.
It's always good to remember that.

So I hope you enjoy the photos and the season!

Have a good Wednesday.

Monday Morning Card #51

It's fall.
It's dark at 6AM.
And then it's dark again at 8PM.
(I don't know if I like it yet.)

This card reflects the changing darkness.
Not only in the nice deep purple, but also in the artificial light because I made it too late last night.

I keep denying that winter is coming in hopes that, maybe, it won't.
But it will.
So friend, let's get together, watch the leaves turn colors, and eat apple pie.
Friend, let's embrace the season rather than deny it!
Happy Fall!

Scraps [4]

It might be weird, but western Wisconsin will always have a place in my heart.
I know, I transferred from Eau Claire and I really haven't spent much time over there before or since then, but that part of the state holds so much beauty!
While I was at Eau Claire I took a few science classes that involved field trips
(who doesn't love that!?).
Through that time I got to see the areas in the community that weren't full of college students and academics.

Last fall Fred and I ventured (back) West!
We went to some parks I had been to before, and others that were new.
This is Lake Wissota!
We camped there for two night and I feel in love.
Everything was gorgeous!

I tried to keep this page simple and let the beauty speak for itself.
Then I found some really cool buttons and couldn't resist!

This trip was an amazing adventure!
I can't wait to go back.

Have a lovely weekend.
Make sure you get our for a little adventure as well.

Monday Morning Card #50

Wonderful.
That's what today is.
Wonderful
That's what this season is.
Wonderful.
That's what you are.

Have a great week!
Try to get out and enjoy the 70's!
(A little hard apple cider wouldn't hurt either.)

Scraps [3]

I didn't have close ups of these pages so there are two!

The first is a family dinner we had last summer.
I don't scrapbook nearly enough about my family.
So this page is making up for that a little.

The next is a new years page for 2011-2012.
A LONG time ago!
It is nice to have it together though!

Have a great weekend!
I hope you enjoyed these pages.
