Spring Break Get Away

On a cold winter night a few months ago I found this opportunity.
I'd never really been to Door County, but I'd heard it was pretty.

And there is this guy,
Fred.

I met him in October,
started dating him in November,
and took him on an adventure in Door County in March.

He worked at most of the parks in the area
so he gave me the best (cheapest) tour of the county.

Did you know Fred is a park ranger?
I don't remember if I told you that.

We went to Peninsula State Park,

Then we stayed the night at an AMAZING resort.

I took a lot of pictures.
So I hope you enjoy them.

On top of "Old Baldy" in White Fish.

I can't wait to get back.

DAR Update

As of last month
(I'm really really behind)
I am an official member of the DAR
(Daughters of the American Revolution),
Ah Dah Wa Gam Chapter.

I was sworn in with two other women.
One was a returning member,
and another was a first time member,
like myself.

My aunt was so proud.
I'm joining her chapter after all.

I might have mentioned the St Croix Cheguamegon Chapter
that I almost joined when I was in Eau Claire.

We're just one big family!

A Tale of Two Socks

A long long time ago in a far off place know as summer I started a sock.
(The one on the right)
In the not so distant past I finished a sock.
(The one to the left)
Thus completing the pair.

I have learned may things in this journey of socks.
Including how to make people look at you funny.
Simply have to remind yourself to "knit knit purl purl"-out loud.

But they are now complete.
I wear them with pride.
Around my house-because they feel weird in shoes.
But this completion means a need for a new goal.
And that new goal is more socks.
This time harder.
Note the smallness of the needles below.

This smallness in needles mean a change in yarn as well.
I like new yarn!
This is my pretty green choice I will be staring at for another year.
It takes a long time to make sock.
For me anyway.

So this is life.
More to come.
Food to come!

Radio Silence

Sorry it's been so quite over here.
It's not for lack of things to say,
but just time in which to say them!

There have been tests and readings and volunteering and all kinds of college stuff.
This week I will fill you in.
Pinky-promise!

Hope you're enjoying the spring weather!
