Spain Part 2: Valladolid

It's pronounced Va-ya-doe-lead.
I think.
We struggled with that.
It was pretty enough to make up for it though!
While we spent four nights in Madrid we took day trips.
This was our first.
Claire spent her semester here so we got to see her school, home, and hangouts.

Her favorite place was this park with the swans and peacocks.
I didn't get a picture of the peacocks,
but I'm sure someone else got a picture of me with them.

That's something I noticed when I got home.
I really didn't take many photos.
I reasoned it this way:
Claire and Nora were taking tons and tons of photos,
so I would have the physical proof if I needed it.
This also gave me more time to simply soak up Spain,
and enjoy my vacation!

Really I was kinda lazy.
It's okay though.
I was in Spain!

This building is a working church that is only half build.
When Valladolid was the capital of Spain the church was started.
When the capital was changed to Madrid the construction lost it's funding, and the church will remain unfinished.

This is a university library!

Doors in Spain were really cool!

This is the oldest Plaza Major in Spain.
(There is a Plaza Major in just about every city.)
Almost all Plaza Majors throughout Spain are surrounded by red buildings.
I don't know why, but it's really neat!

Spain Part 1: Madrid

I know . . .
I know . . .
But seriously. Adjusting to summer after the semester I just had was hard:
Awesome. But hard.
True life.

I spent ten days in Spain with my mom, her sister, and my sister.
Starting with four days in Madrid.

This is the huge downtown train station in Madrid.
We spent time here. A lot of time.
See the huge jungle-trees?
The water between the trees and the people is full of turtles.

On our wanderings throughout the city we found a botanical garden that we moseyed through.

We also found an art museum that I didn't take any pictures of.
We saw Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali!

In general Madrid was a lot of exploring, eating, and drinking.

I loved starting and ending our travels in such a vibrant city.

And Claire found a tree she loved!

There's not a lot to say about Madrid really.
It took a while to get the swing of vacation mode.
I promise I took more pictures on other parts of the trip.

Monday Morning Cards #37

It's summer for real this time!
I'm at home for the summer break,
and I have a lot in store for the blog,
and my summer.

Starting with buffing up my birthday card supply.
Flowers and colors to remind friends that whenever you get a card,
smiling should be a priority.

Have a great start to a warm week!
Stay tuned for the Spain pictures
from my vacation.

Monday Morning Card #36

Sometimes you need to tell your best friend how awesome they are.
That's what this card is for.
Fill it up with beautiful words full of passion, inspiration, and soul.
Then send it off with something extra inside.
(Tea is always welcome,
but nature is always nice.)

Say hi to your friends today.
Wish them all a happy Monday.
I promise after all that,
your Monday will be great too!
