Simple Cards

Way back in June
(This summer is SO busy-and flying by! I'm sorry for the lack of posts!)
I lead a group of teens at our local library in making cards!
The teen room had some supplies and a lot of paper to use up,
and I was happy to help them out with all of their too-much-paper-troubles.

What I loved about this batch is not only that they happened-
time really is sparse, by that I mean time I want to do something other than nap.
No. I love how simple they all are.

These days I have all sorts of fun add-ons and my cards turn out busy.
Not that that's a bad thing,
it just is, and I didn't realize it until I was working on these.

I brought stamps, ink and punches to craft with.
Things that are useful but couldn't really be ruined or used up if a ton of kids showed up.
With no ribbon and only one or two buttons I was challenged to come up with different fun ideas.

With that challenge I rediscover how awesome stamps can be.
And have you met busy paper?!
It's simply lovely!
Also color was a big theme.
Color in the right places-and the strategic lack of it in other places.

I hope you enjoy this simple offering as much as I enjoyed making them!

It's a MOOSE!!

Apple Fun Time

I went home for the first time this past weekend.
It was super busy.
First, there was John Green.
[All Stolen off Facebook]

I almost didn't make it,
but I did miss out on the dinner.
However,
here are some pictures,
This is John Rick Rolling his audience (myself included) on Saturday.
And this is my (Awesome) sister getting our books signed.
(I was with my mom checking out another author.
After my excited time with John Green
(did I mention I shook his hand?!?!?!)
I got to hang out with my friends.
I took Katie out for lunch for her birthday
and then spent a super long time with Adam.
I made apple pie,
and watched Iron Man (one and two)
(really good movies!).
I played Taboo,
made tacos,
and didn't take ANY pictures.

Then I headed back to Putnam.

Now it's Tuesday,
and I made apple crisp.
Then I made Sponge Bob mac and cheese!
Have a great week!

Denver . . . Finally

We're in Denver!
We walked all around Denver,
shopping,
finding cupcakes,
and drinking bubble tea.
This was the fence of a construction area
that some super awesome people decided to make pretty.
A group of crafters transformed the chain-link into a garden of yarn.
We went to the Public Library,
a must see for me!
This is their "Teen Space"
I must brag a little here, and say that the Waupaca teen room is WAY cooler.
Don't believe me?
Check it out Here.

So after a long day on our feet we went out to eat with my cousins,
and Fred (a significant other).
We met up at a place called "Charlie Brown's."
It was just a local place that we could sit outside and talk.
I had a great time,
it was fun to be with this family again,
it's been like five years since the four cousins were all in the same place!
Before we went out to eat we found some cupcakes!
We waited until after supper to divulge,
bad idea
Claire was the only one with room left.
But I think she enjoyed it.
Tomorrow is white water rafting!
I simply can't wait!
